Arts Program Assistant

Role

The Program Assistant is an integral part of the Arts Participation team, working collaboratively to support the work of the team by monitoring assigned grants, developing relationships with grantees, and contributing to special projects and analysis to achieve the Foundation’s overall goals for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Review preliminary grant proposals and prepare summary reports and charts to facilitate the development of grant recommendations.
  • Gather data, conduct research and analysis, synthesize information from grantee reports and other sources, and draft reports.
  • Develop relationships with grantees and respond to questions, monitor activity, review reports and flag issues for review with officers.
  • Support the planning and staging of grantee meetings and conferences, and provide administrative support such as creating spreadsheets, word processing and data entry as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ related experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks.
  • Strong writing, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Must be proficient with MS-Office Suite with expertise in MS-Excel, and have demonstrated ability for data analysis and management.
  • Familiarity with GIFTS for Windows or other grants database is a plus.
