Massachusetts is developing a system of regional partnerships throughout the state to support the recruitment, hiring and training of diverse education leaders. The state is also focusing on changing the roles and responsibilities of education leaders to enable greater responsibility, authority and accountability. Licensure regulations for school leaders and leadership preparation are being changed to support these efforts.
