I Did it For Myself

Summary:

This report describes emerging findings from a three-year investigation of the factors that help adults stay with literacy programs long enough to achieve lasting gains in reading and writing. This second of four publications from MDRC, based on Wallace’s Literacy in Libraries Across America initiative, identifies program features, teaching and assessment methods, and approaches to students that are most likely to encourage adults to show “persistence” in their literacy efforts.
