Summary:

Parks have long been recognized for their positive physical and aesthetic influences on urban neighborhoods. But they are also now considered key contributors to larger urban policy objectives such as job creation, youth development, public health and community-building. This first in a series of policy briefs, based on lessons from Wallace’s Urban Parks Initiative, explains how parks are taking more active roles in these pursuits, building partnerships to sustain their work and advocating for increased and continued public support.
