Summary:

User surveys can reveal valuable information that can help parks managers operate more effectively and respond to people’s needs. But many parks have not taken full advantage of these powerful research tools because they lack the resources and skills. This second policy brief in a series from the Urban Institute, based on Wallace’s Urban Parks Initiative, introduces five data-collection methods and gives examples of how parks used them to improve the services they offer.
