Since 2004, The Wallace Foundation has engaged the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) to conduct periodic surveys of its grantees to gauge their satisfaction on a wide range of issues affecting their relationships with Wallace. This new report updates an original case study by CEP on how the Foundation has used these survey findings to build on the strengths of its grantee relationships and identify and act upon areas in need of improvement (click here to download the original case study). In this case study update that includes results of the 2008 survey, CEP reports how the foundation has used the findings to score rapid and “dramatic” improvements in some of the hardest-to-tackle aspects of its relationships with grantees, including the clarity of communication of Wallace’s goals and strategies.
