The Wallace Foundation sponsored a gathering of providers, local and federal policymakers, foundations and intermediaries to discuss how best to deliver high-quality learning opportunities to children and family during non-school hours. Nearly one hundred leaders from around the country met for a daylong discussion at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The symposium was designed as an occasion for collective thought on two interlocking issues—quality and sustainability—and as a way to frame a more productive and fact-based national conversation.
