At The Wallace Foundation sponsored symposium on out-of-school time issues, OST practitioners, funders, advocates and policy makers discussed how cities can improve systems to provide meaningful, high-quality, sustainable programs to as many children as possible, particularly those from low and moderate-income families. The key findings of the day were captured in a 10-minute video, “Voices from the 2005 OST Symposium”.
Speakers include: Commissioner Jeanne Mullgrav, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development; Robert Stonehill, Director for Academic Improvement and Teacher Quality Programs, US Department of Education’s office of Elementary and Secondary Education; Audrey Hutchinson, Program Director, National League of Cities and Geoffrey Canada, President and CEO, Harlem Children’s Zone.
