Since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, efforts have been made by the Unified Summer Grants Collaborative to help summer camps rebuild their facilities. New to the collaborative, The Wallace Foundation has committed $700,000, bringing the Collaborative’s total to $974,000 for the year. The money will be given to 52 agencies, benefiting low-income youths in New Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa.
