An article in the May 8 edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer examines a new $6.3 million effort, coordinated by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, to increase audience participation in the region’s arts offerings. The initiative is funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and The Wallace Foundation."What we're talking about is getting more Philadelphians involved in arts and culture," the article quotes Tom Kaiden, chief operating officer of the alliance, as saying. "It's fundamentally about changing the arts experience to make it more accessible to more people."
