Arizona Profile
Arizona is developing a statewide system of leader development with measurable standards for leader performance and incentives for successful practice. This includes developing descriptions of performance against leadership standards and a benchmarking process for monitoring leaders’ progress toward meeting those standards. The state is researching and defining incentives for: leaders who exceed the standards, districts and schools that exceed expectations for student performance improvements, and talented educators to become principals. In order to support leaders in meeting and exceeding the standards, Arizona is developing training and support programs for individual leaders.
