Michigan is developing a new data system and conduct programs at university and district levels to train leaders in how to use data effectively to make decisions about instruction to improve student learning. The data will align curriculum requirements with the state’s testing program, making it a useful tool for leaders to diagnose student learning and to make decisions about continuously improving teaching and learning. Four urban school districts serve as demonstration districts. The state will develop web-based data analysis tools to support this effort.
