Missouri is developing and implementing strategies to team institutions of higher education with districts in redesigning training programs for new education leaders. These programs are based on state leadership standards developed in the first phase of SAELP, and specifically address the leadership needs of the state’s urban districts. These changes in training will be combined with increased support for new leaders in districts and changes in the conditions that constrain leaders from being effective.
