Arizona is one of only six states to receive a $3.6 million Wallace Foundation Grant last week. Seven school districts will use the grant money over the next three years for leadership training.
How it will work: Each district will create a team that includes governing board members, administrators, principals and teachers. The team will attend the same leadership workshops and receive coaching. The goal is to educate the team as a group and ensure the district has a unified approach to help schools that are struggling to improve student achievement and graduation rates.
