"Cinema Latino" opens Friday and runs through Sunday. The five recent independent movies on the schedule are intended primarily for audiences from the state's Colombian, Cuban, Dominican, Ecuadorian and Mexican communities.
The film festival is part of a four-year program begun two years ago to draw more Latinos and Asian-Americans to the museum. The effort is funded by the Wallace Foundation of New York.
