The Dallas Morning News
This Dallas Morning News story highlights several noteworthy conclusions from Motivations Matter, a Wallace-supported report that offers arts organizations key insights into the factors might bring new people to their events and keep them coming back.
“The arts are not monolithic,” writes News architecture critic David Dillon. He identifies ways in which people’s motivations for arts participation vary widely across various disciplines — a major conclusion from the Urban Institute report — and points out how frequent attendance can affect their likelihood of becoming donors or attending events in nontraditional venues.
Motivations Matter is an important new release in The Wallace Foundation’s effort to enhance the arts community’s knowledge about how to find and cultivate new audiences. The foundation aims in particular to increase arts participation among underserved populations.
