Retirement boom and more pressure accelerate career tracks
There is no shortage of certified people, but there is a great difference between being certified and being qualified, the way the needs of those jobs are now," said Jody Spiro, senior officer for education programs for The Wallace Foundation. The foundation is a New York-based private charitable group that helps institutions expand learning and enrichment opportunities. "Student achievement is not where it should be," Spiro said. "Some people are not prepared to go from teaching right into a principalship."
