Talia Shaull

Chief Human Resources Officer

Talia Shaull joined The Wallace Foundation as chief human resources officer in July 2022. She leads all aspects of HR and talent management at Wallace and is responsible for driving its people strategy.

Before joining the foundation, Shaull held senior HR positions in the nonprofit and education sectors. Most recently, she served as chief talent officer at Achievement First, a charter management organization in New York City. She led the organization’s recruitment, talent, and leadership/principal pipeline development teams, which served 41 schools in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Prior to that, she was chief talent officer at Uncommon Schools, where she provided leadership and strategic direction to recruitment, talent development, and HR operations teams serving 2,600 employees at 54 charter schools across six cities.

Earlier, Shaull was part of the Tulsa Public Schools’ leadership team, where she began as a project manager and rose to become executive director of teacher and leader effectiveness and, then, chief talent officer. During her tenure, Shaull led the school system’s efforts to transform the human capital function at the district office and improve service to schools. During a time of severe teacher shortages, her work involved, among other things, heading a cross-functional team of district leaders, principals, and staff members to fill all core teacher vacancies and ensure schools were fully staffed. She also oversaw the implementation of a comprehensive teacher evaluation system, which was adopted by the majority of school districts in Oklahoma and later became the state model for teacher evaluation.

Shaull has a B.S. in International Business from Oral Roberts University and a M.A. in organizational development from the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa. She has served as a member of the board of Teach for America/Oklahoma Region and the Tulsa Community College Board of Regents.
