In 1999, The Wallace Foundation took stock of itself and decided its approach to philanthropy might not be the best way to create the widespread, sustained changes the foundation was after. So, it retooled around the principle that change is fueled by finding and sharing new ideas. In its 2009 annual report, the foundation assesses how its new approach played out over the decade.
