State Summer Learning Network

The Wallace Foundation supports a partnership between the National Summer Learning Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers that is helping a set of states determine how to provide students with strong summer programming.

What we're doing

The pandemic led to setbacks for children's academic progress and wellbeing. The State Summer Learning Network seeks to address this by aiding states in using summer programs to help children recover. Coaching, research, and guidance on funding are among the services the Network offers its up-to-nine participating states. The effort aims not only to assist them in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic. It also seeks to develop lessons that can enhance their summer learning work in years to come.
