Lauren Sanders

Managing Editor

Lauren Sanders joined The Wallace Foundation in late 2016 in the newly created position of managing editor, designed to help the foundation bolster its editorial systems and capacity. She is responsible for overseeing the daily flow of content across Wallace’s digital channels, as well as editing, writing and managing content for Wallace’s website and blog.

Prior to Wallace, Sanders worked on various teams at Teach For America, all with a focus on digital content and community engagement. Before that she was the editorial director at Lambda Legal, where she helped to spearhead the organization’s online advocacy program and move into the digital world. Her training, however, is old school, beginning with a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and stints at numerous print magazines as a writer, editor and copy editor.

Sanders holds a B.A. in political science from Barnard College and an M.A. in creative writing from City College. She is also a published novelist.
