Pamela Mendels

​​Pamela Mendels began working for Wallace in 2007. She is responsible for writing and editing major pieces for the foundation, including reports about Wallace initiatives and reader-friendly summaries of Wallace-supported research. Mendels came to the foundation from Princeton University, where she served as editor of the development office’s alumni publication. Before that, she had a long career in journalism, working as a reporter for The Providence Journal, Newsday and BusinessWeek Online. For four years she was a weekly columnist and regular contributor to The New York Times’ website. She also helped launch and edit InsideSchools.org, which covers New York City’s public schools. Her work has earned a number of prizes, including the Newspaper Guild’s Page One Award. She graduated from Smith College and has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
