“Intermediaries” – nonprofits that assist after-school programming through providing staff training, forging connections to funders or helping to develop quality standards – are playing a key role in boosting after-school services, according to this report. Based on the first national survey of intermediaries, the report describes the varied forms these groups take as well as their most pressing concerns. Top of the list? Increasing access to high-quality, affordable programs for underserved youth.
