A number of U.S. cities have been building citywide systems to make high-quality after-school programs more available to children, especially the disadvantaged. Looking toward surviving the immediate economic hard times and beyond, this report from a Wallace-sponsored conference gathers advice for those efforts including: developing closer ties to schools, and collecting and using data to guide decisions.
