In this series, two leaders of Philadelphia arts organizations—Christopher Taylor, president of The Clay Studio, and Magda Martinez, director of programs of Fleisher Art Memorial—explain how they attracted younger, more diverse audiences to their arts programs. They describe how they identified their primary challenges, how they used audience research to understand them and how they devised, tested and refined strategies to respond accordingly.

Both organizations received Wallace Excellence Awards for their audience-building efforts. Their experiences, along with those of other award recipients, are detailed in a series of case studies about arts organizations’ work to broaden, deepen or diversify their audiences.
