Seven universities across the country are redesigning their principal preparation programs to reflect the real-world demands of the job. This video series is based on Launching a Redesign of University Principal Preparation Programs: Partners Collaborate for Change, a 2018 report from the RAND Corporation on the first year of a Wallace initiative to support seven schools across the nation as they rethink principal preparation. The report suggests the feasibility of a complex redesign process through comprehensive, interdependent partnerships with states and districts.
Principal Preparation: A Roadmap for Reform captures the early implementation by two university programs—North Carolina State and Florida Atlantic University—under the mentorship of the exemplary Ritchie Program for School Leaders at the University of Denver.
