Drawing on The Wallace Foundation’s extensive experience working on school leadership in states and districts, this Wallace Perspective suggests a working hypothesis for how to develop principals who can improve teaching and learning. It envisions a system of standards, training and working conditions that is more supportive of principals and coordinated among states, their districts and schools.
